I have been waiting an entire year for this!
For those of you who do not know, I am a HUGE Airplane junky …. for the most part I just love fighter jets, but I have a soft spot for all planes. Every year I attend 3 air shows in my neck of the woods, the Waterloo air show, Hamilton Air Show and the St. Thomas air show all in South-Western Ontario, Canada. The images you are about to see are all from the Hamilton Ontario air show which I attended last weekend (June 16th). Hamilton is home of the War Plane Museum which houses a lot of old air crafts, some of which still fly today. So of course at this air show there are quite a few old aircraft that come out to play, which is such a treat. Some of the oldies but goodies this year included: The Lancaster, The Spitfire, The Hurricane, the one and only flying Mosquito, and a FOCKE-WULF (FLUGWERK) FW190.
This years Hamilton air show was the biggest one in this area, from what I understand and it was packed! I was a little disappointed in the amount of fighter jets this year. When I was a kid the air shows had a large array of jet fighters from all over the world, but with the rising costs of fuel and insurance, it seems like they are dying out, none the less, it was a great show, and I can’t wait to attend the St.Thomas one on the 28th!
The image above was a very special shot because you will never see these planes flying together… here we have The Lancaster, Two Hurricanes, A Spitfire and the very rare, only flying, Mosquito, flying information.
