I look out into the fields as we travel down the open highway, with a small amount of rain tapping the windshield of the car. A gray sky filters out the light we had hoped for that day and seemed to become more flat and dull the further we drove.
Kingston, Ontario Canada was our destination and by our I mean my friend and fellow photographer, Jeremy MacKnott. Not only were we on a photo adventure, looking for new scenes to shoot, but we were also going to visit a good friend of mine, Ebonnie Hollenbeck (aka The Hunter). Ebonnie is a graduating 4th year fine art student at Queens University who I met through a mutual friend in London Ontario. Her work is outstanding, her personality is Devine and she is fantastically beautiful!
Once in Kingston, we drove around to find some shots but, unfortunately we had arrived in off season. We headed on over to Queens university to meet up with Ebonnie and experience her art work and installation. Ebonnie and I have been following each others lives over facebook and Instagram for quite a while… Ain’t social media grand! For to walk into her studio space and see the space she had been creating her art in and the room where I watched (via Instagram) her put together the installation was so surreal. Honestly, I was a bit choked up, excited, happy and nervous all at the same time.
Once we hugged and chatted for a bit, Ebonnie took us up and explained the amazing, well thought out design, story and experience of her work! “Wow” is all I can say… Her mind is breath taking! I’ve seen her installations through Instagram before a few times, but to actually experience it was life altering. I think a piece of me fell in love with this woman… To bad she’s spoken for eh, just my luck!
After a few speeches and some “drinks” we decided to do a mini photo session of Ebonnie and her work as it was her final day at Queens. It was an amazing experience and honor to be able to photograph her and spend the day inside of her glorious mind. I truly hope this woman and artist will be in my life for good.
Kingston Conquered and Jeremy and I ended up in Ottawa lol….. More to come!!
